Hey ladies

 

Ive recently been raving on about this new holy grail I’ve found for my skin called Beauty Tofu. I planned to do a short Insta review on it but when I started typing I couldn’t stop so thought it would be much easier to write a blog post on it!

If you follow me on Instagram you would have noticed for quite some time I was heavily complaining about my skin. I had tried so much, facemasks, skin treatments, ensuring my water intake was high and diet good, changing pillowcases every few days, always washing my face, never sleeping in makeup etc etc etc and nothing would give.

 

 

And like a god send, Mel from Beauty Tofu reached out and suggested her products. Cleansing me from the inside out, she ensured me it would work. I was drinking one of her products twice a day and another one only at night as well as using as a mask. In less than a week I already began to see a change in my skin. It was clearing up and looking less inflamed. With results that quick I just knew I was onto a winner. The fact that the products contain nothing nasty and are from the earth itself made me confident that my body was ridding of all things bad and healing from the inside!

Every morning and night for 10 days, I consumed 3 teaspoons of the C1 detox mixed in with a large glass of water. There is really not much of a taste that comes with this detox. It tastes a bit earthy but is really easy to drink.

 

I figured out after a while that re-stirring the drink after every sip ensured it wasn’t all floating to the bottom making the last sip a lil icky to get down. Once I started doing this it became no chore at all!!

 

After the detox drink I would be sure to have 2 large glasses of warm water to finish off!

 

I begun to notice how full I felt after! It stopped me over eating and thinking I needed to snack every minute of the day lol.

 

Since the 10 days has stopped, every Sunday I make a mix up and drink it before I go to bed to assist my body digest and get a great start to the week.  I find that doing this once a week is enough for now to help keep my skin on track and keeps it really affordable which is great for me. Also lessens any guilt I’m carrying around for maybe treating myself over the weekend haha.

 

 

Product 2 T3 TIP TO TOE – ORGANIC TEMPLE DETOX

 

Beauty Tofu’s organic pure specialised detox clay, I am here to cleanse your temple from tip to toe. Whether you suffer from problematic skin, digestive issues such as bloating, constipation or gas, skin disorders, body odour or you’re simply just wanting to flush the toxins and impurities our bodies so easily collect these days I am an amazing simple solution. Time for some self-love!

INTERNAL USE – One tablespoon with water, juice or in your smoothie followed by a big glass of water. Take me daily until I’m gone. You can also add me to your baking or raw treats.

EXTERNAL USE – Two teaspoons with water for a purifying face mask. Two teaspoons in your bath for ultimate detox soak.For best results use me in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise.

INGREDIENTS – 100% Sodium Montmorillonite Clay. Made using natural and organic ingredients only.

Every night over a 7 day period I would use this clay both internally and externally. After the 7 days I dropped the Internal part and just continued to drink it for another 3 days, finishing at the same time as the C1.

 

For Internal use, it’s the same deal as above, however I only use this detox at night-time. I would drink this one before the C1 cleanse, again mixed into a large glass of water. You are also meant to immediately follow this detox with two glasses of warm water however,  because I would have the C1 cleanse straight after and then two glasses of water after, that I never saw the point. But, if I was to do only the T3 detox I would make sure to have the 2 glasses after to help your body absorb all the goodies.

 

Again, the taste of this cleanse is super careful and really has such a bland taste too it which makes these cleanses so easy!

 

 

External use (again, just at night-time) I would create a mask by putting around 2 -3 teaspoons into a cup and then adding water. It doesn’t say on the instructions how much to put it so I played around bit until I found a good amount and its literally only a few drops. You want the powder to form a real clay texture once mixed with water otherwise it becomes to runny and spreads really thin. For optimum results, you want the mask to be more thick)

 

For the first few days I covered my entire face and neck, however I noticed results so quick after 3 days I stopped covering my forehead, temples and neck and just focused around the cheek/chin area (where hormone driven acne likes to play up). I would leave this on for half an hour or until it looked dry.

 

The time can vary a little as the clay can spread uneven. OR if I had a super bad spot, I would put more clay on it to let the T3 really work its magic.

 

It is SUPER drying, like you will not be able to open your mouth very wide tight, so don’t try to eat Mexican food with this on your face (me).

 

Now that the 7 days of this ritual are up, I do it about 2-3 times a week depending on how my skin is doing. This too helps keep affordable however I think if you used it on a daily basis over a long period of time it would really dry your skin out.

 


 

You guys, I seriously cannot explain how good this combo was. If I was to get only one I would be the T3 TIP TO TOE – ORGANIC TEMPLE DETOX as that mask is one purifying thing, however if financially you are in the position to get both – 100% do it.

 

I’ve recently had so many comments from people about how clear my skin is looking and how even the skin tones are! It’s seriously been amazing.

Hello lovelies!

Today I took time out of my life for me! I went to Zen Float Spa for some much needed RNR! To begin, this is not a paid post! I just had so many questions Float (lol) through my inbox after I insta storied a lil selfie of me and the tank that I thought it would be easier for me too blog it!

For those of you who havnt heard of this, a Float Spa is quite literally that! It’s a lil Capsual/Tank bath filled with roughly 850 pounds of Epsom Salts and 200 gallons of water. Scientifically how the Salts keep you afloat I have no idea, but it does! It’s rather difficult to push your body down once you have began to float.
Epsoms salt isn’t actually salt, it’s a natural mineral compound of both magnesium and sulfate. Both are easily absorbed through the skin which makes the Float tanks a super easy and ideal way to enjoy the multiple health benefits. These health benefits include –

I wanted to try Float for a quite a few reasons. These being it helps reduce inflammation which is obviously a big Endo problem, balancing my hormones, I’m literally a walking ball of stress and anxiety, I suffer from at times kinda hating my life, I’m always tired, struggle with back pain and I just wanted to relax! Plus, with the amount of pain killers going down my neck at the moment, I need any kind of detox I can get my hands on! So after reading the above health benefits, I just had to try it!

 

Both of my parents have been going for float sessions over the past few months and have completely raved about it! Every time id complain about lower back pain or neck/shoulder pain, my energy levels or my endo symptoms they would pretty much in sync sing the words “go to bloody float”.
You start by showering to remove perfumes and makeup etc, you then turn off the lights and then jump in the tank. You can choose to keep the lid of the tank open or closed, I chose to shut the lid. There are then lights on the inside of the tank which can be turned off or on. To start the session, there is music that plays for the first ten minutes.
For me, once this music turned off I had a mini panic at how quiet it was. My mind IS NEVER quiet, I’m constantly thinking 1000 different thoughts so after zenning out to the music and tranquility I was a lil freaked. So I chose to turn the lights in the pod back on. Once I had done this I felt more at ease. Next time I think ill ask if I can keep the music on the whole time (Nicole, if your ready this – please!!!! lol) so I can keep the lights of and stay in the initial zenned out meditative state I was originally in.

It was kinda trippy. At times I felt like I was floating all over the show however would open my eyes and find that I was perfectly still. I had times of complete silence in my mind whereas at other times I was thinking about me, situations I am in and what my future has in store plus how I can control everything! Time just flew by too, I felt like I was in there for only 20 mins max!

I did a 45 min Float however there are different options. Once your time is up the music comes back on for 5 mins. You then re shower to get the salt off you. Soap, towels, shampoo, conditioner and cleanser are all provided for you. If you have any small skin grazes the salt does sting a lil however you are provided with Vaseline to place on these to put a barrier in place.

My legs and booty were pretty sore because I’ve just started boot camp, they felt a lil better after the 45 mins but nothing drastic.

I did feel very tired and just wanted to lay in bed with a cup of tea. However I also really loved life. I’m not sure if it was the floating or the time it gave me to think however I felt like I had a new understanding of where my life was at and where it was going. Sounds cliche but more than true. After nearly 12 hours having passed after my tank immersion I’m still feeling completely chilled, plus my lower back pains have pretty much gone and there is already a huge change in my neck and shoulder pain.

 

 

Zen Float Spa also stock a whole bunch of natural goodies. I picked up a really cute Charcoal Face mask and tried it tonight and absolutely loved it.

 

I felt no difference in my pains however nothing magically works after one try! I wasn’t expecting it to be an instant relief so I am 100% going to be an active floater. I cannot wait for my next session! Will be great to see after a few more visits how my acne, pains and energy levels are. Also cannot wait too see if it helps other endometriosis symptoms too! I really hope that by balancing my hormones it has a great effect. I also hope this relaxed and love of life feeling stays!

 

I want to add that for those trying to conceive, if I were in your shoes I would be doing this as much as I could as one of the benefits are assisting in fertility!

What can you do to spread awareness this month?

Hey girls

 

I write to you while cooped up in bed, dying with my wheat bag. With nothing else to do but watch Netflix or write a post – I thought it was about time I get productive and touch base with you all. Now instead of sharing some form of a messy. kind rambling, I thought I would jot down a few ideas of how you can spread awareness this month!

 

Now, for those of you who are not aware, March is Internationally recognised as “Endometriosis Awareness Month”. It is so fantastic that globally we share a month to pay support, recognition and get the word out about something that affects 176 million woman from all over the world.

 

Even though we battle with Endometriosis on, at times, a daily basis, that does not mean that we know how to spread the word and get involved in creating awareness for this disease. It can be difficult to join the cause, no matter how severe you case is! Don’t feel defeated or any less! I at times feel the same! Most of us struggle to be heard on any day of the week. I too understand that feeling of –

  • No one cares
  • They think I’m faking
  • No one will listen
  • They are sick of hearing me talk about it
  • They do not believe me
  • I dont want people to think I’m annoying

gosh, I could just go on! and I bet you could add to this list of feelings and thoughts due to how you feel when speaking about our illness! Sadly, its normal to feel this way! This is due to not enough people knowing and understanding what Endometriosis really is and how it affects us all. This is why this month is so special to me – to all of us – and why we should reallllllly push to talk about it.

 

So what can you do to help? Here are a few ideas/examples that you could try this march, and really, any time you feel like opening up and getting people to listen to what you go through!

 

 

LEARN FOR YOURSELF

Simply learning more about this disease can be of such help to all of us, as you too are now one more person who knows how Endometriosis works. Just because your affected, does not mean you contain enough information to speak clearly on it. Even if you are researching to help yourself, you are still yet another human who understands this disease, and thats what we need! More people who know what this horrible thing does.

 

It will too, help you in day too day life!

 

To save you some googling time, here are a few facts that could be new to you;

  • 176 million woman worldwide are knowingly affected by Endometriosis, we say knowingly because so many cases so undetected due to lack of knowledge in both woman and doctors.
  • To out that in other terms, thats 1 in ever 10 woman (again, knowingly).
  • On average, it takes 8 years to receive a diagnosis.
  • Receiving a hysterectomy is not a cure.
  • Neither is having children.
  • In fact, there is no known cure.
  • The only way to receive a diagnosis is through a laparoscopy. There 100% is not other way.
  • Symptoms do not only cure during menstruation.

These are only a small handful of facts however are not very well known! Feel free to share these, or as said above, just note them down for yourself.

 

 

JUST TALK!

This really, truly is the easiest way to get the word out about Endometriosis. Talk to your friends, family, word colleagues – anyone who will listen about what Endometriosis is, how it affects you and millions of others and try to get them to understand that it is MORE THAN A PERIOD! It is so common for people to have either

A. Never heard of the disease

or

B. Have a misunderstanding of what it truly is.

Simply by discussing the matter, giving the basic stats and statics and sharing your own situation should help others understand. Throwing around the KNOWINGLY, 176 MILLION WOMAN ARE AFFECTED line normally gets peoples attention, I mean its a huge number and these are only the known stats due to so many un diagnosed case.

 

SOCIAL MEDIA 

The easiest tool. So many of us, even though personally affected, feel uniformed and under educated about the disease. The great thing about social media is that before you have to click POST you can do your research, proof read and check what you have written and feel confident about what you are saying due to the time and effort you have put into your “speech”.

 

Without the face to face confrontation of social media, or someone throwing questions directly at you, you are able to confidently and comfortably take your time with what you are saying before spreading your awareness. This also allows people to take in the entire information, without holding onto one sentence, before forming an opinion on what you are talking about.It also makes it easier for your friends and family to assist you in your mission by sharing what you post! Its so easy!

 

There are a tonne of support/awareness pages online too, (shameless self plug moment) like my own, who constantly are posting things all Endo related that you yourself can easily share on your timeline if your not into writing your own spiel.

 

HELP OTHERS BY SHARING 

There are so many blogs, websites, media outlets etc that will happily accept your diagnosis story and share it on their sites in order too spread awareness! I offer that here on allaboutannie and love giving others their space and a platform to speak up and share what they have been through!

 

You writing and sharing your journey helps others more than you know. It helps them –

  • not feel alone
  • educates them on symptoms they didn’t know exist
  • give confidence so they too find a voice

plus so much more!

 

You may also find sharing your story and writing it down an good form of therapy for yourself!

 

JOIN/ORGANISE EVENTS

Ok so I do agree that organising an event is a biggy lol. But it is possible!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this is too out there, join one in your town or a surrounding one! Or just help spread the word that there is one happening! One that happens in my local areas is one organised by Insight Endometriosis, it happens every year and they do a great job 🙂

SO go get it my girls, learn, educate, spread the word, share you stories, share others stories – just try and do something, no matter how big or small, to spread the word.

What’s the best pain relief you’ve tried?

Not even trying to sound like a drug queen, Morphine. Hands down.

 

What do you think of medicinal marijuana for endo and would you use it yourself if it was readily available?

Yes. I would 100% without a doubt use medicinal marijuana if I was able too. I am completely open to the idea and after reading and watching the amazing effects it can have in medical situations, id be crazy to say no to this!

How long did it take you to be diagnosed? Were you misdiagnosed to start with? If so, what did they say it was?

I don’t know exactly but I remember going to the doctors and complaining about pain that felt like period pain even when I didn’t have my period as a young teen. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 18/19 so roughly 5-6 years. My problem was always just put down too as a bad period, even was accused for just wanting time off school by a doctor. I was never really diagnosed with anything else however for months I was constantly tested for STI’s and even put on medication “just incase” even though every test came back negative.

 

Do you have adenomyosis as well as endo?

Luckily for me, no, I only have Endo.

SEX! Do you have any tips onto how I can manage being intimate?

I truly believe that sometimes it is mind over matter. A friend of mine, including me also have issues with sex. and we have talked about how much our mind impacts our sex life. If I go into the situation freaking out that its going to be painful and hurt, high chance is that it will. Whereas if you silence your mind and relax, your body will too! Also, taking it slow, explaining to your partner your concerns, getting them too assure you they will be gentle and kind! communication is a huge help

 

What is your favourite movie, song and food?

I love the Pursuit of Happiness and I have a few more too but I am shocking with movie names so can’t remember what they are called. Song is Hotel California – Eagles, Santeria – Sublime, Hit em Up 2pac (lol I know). Favourite food is a hard one, I realllllly like sushi and pizza haha I’m not really sure what my favourite food is tbh.

 

I am also going through a breakup and am chronically ill. I have a fear of being alone. Do you have any tips for distracting yourself?

Sorry to hear you are struggling 🙁 Please though, I have to urge to learn to love your own company and space. You must love your own presence before you can truly love someone elses! Whats really helped me these last few weeks is staying super super busy. I have been working a lot which has helped. But hangout with friends and family, exercise, clean, read, watch movies, nap, create exciting recipes, write – ANYTHING that will keep your mind occupied is what you need to be doing – stop your mind from wandering x

Whats it like to have endometriosis in a relationship and how does it effect it?

It kind of just felt normal for me because Kods was so frikken amazing about it. But it did have its struggles. Im already an erratic person as it is and have crazy ass mood swings so add PMS ontop of that – god knows how he lasted 3 years dealing with that lol. Sex can be hard due to it not always being able to happen, which can then put strain on the relationship. honestly, it is a battle and finding a guy who is man enough to handle it can be hard, but it makes you appreciate them that much more

 

Are you friends always supportive of your endo if you have flare ups or can’t do what you would normally do with them?

This varies. mostly they understand. However if I have been doing really well for quite some time and then begin to bail on plans etc again it can at times become quiet obvious that they get frustrated. Normally It is my own fault though because I don’t explain that its due to my endometriosis why I feel like crap.

What sort of contraception do you use?

I was on the pill (Ava 30) for like years but now I have a mirena 🙂

 

Do you have any hobbies?

Not really, I do love to read and write though 🙂

 

Do you have a tattoo?

Yes! I have ….

  • 3 birds on back, they represent me, my mum and my sister.

What “treatment” have you been given for your endo?

Firstly, love the quotation marks around treatment cos I agree lol. I have a Mirena in place.

 

Annie have you ever tried herbs such as agnus castus to help try to balance your hormones or tried a vegan diet or castor oil packs?

NO I actually have never tried any of this! I enjoy vegan food however just cannot seem to commit to it yet!

 

How do you deal with Break ups or even breaks? What are some tips?

I hope your ok firstly, going through this stuff can reallllllllly suck.

Now I so wish that I had all the gospel info to give you too help you, but I really don’t. I suck at dealing with my emotions and am semi struggling however….

 

  • Try to remain positive. You could not have done anything more than you did to make the relationship work. Remember it takes two to tango, both people need to be invested for it to succeed.
  • Stay busy – the busier I am the better I feel as my mind is occupied and cannot wander into naughty thoughts.
  • Stay healthy, keep hydrated, rested and eat.
  • Surround yourself by people who love you. Who will remind you how frikken awesome you are.
  • DO NOT TEXT HIM! DO NOT FACEBOOK HIM! DO NOT STALK HIM AND HIS WHEREABOUTS! This isn’t attractive, I know its hard, but do not cling on. Space is great.

 

 

What spot treatment do you use? I noticed you were wearing it in your last Instagram.

I just purchased it! its the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. And after I had brought I found out it was paragon free which is mean!

How do you think that having endo has changed your life?

Its changed my outlook on life for sure. I’m more appreciative of the human body, of food and nature. Ive also chilled out on the drinking and partying which is a good thing haha. Also knowing I may not be able to kids has changed me a lil.

Do you have a new boyfriend?

Hahahahaha nossssssssssy man (laugh face emoji would be handy in here haha) no I do not.

 

Have you changed your diet?

Yeah drastically. I am like 90% dairy free, try to be as gluten free as poss, eat ALOT more veggies and have cut out a lot of sugar and take out from my life. I still treat myself and love to wine and cheese nights with the girls and some chocolate after dinner. But yes I have changed a lot about the way I eat.

 

You and your friend Renee make me laugh, how did you meet?

I can’t really remember how we met, it was through mutual friends for sure but I’m not sure of the like exact moment I was introduced to her. She’s amazing though, we have lots of laughs together.

 

Does the fact that you have Endometriosis make you sad ever?

Mmm to be honest, yeah. Like I would love to be able to have sex without worrying its going to hurt, I would love to eat bread for breakfast lunch and dinner. I would really like to be able to go out and drink without feeling like I’m dying from the pain the next day. I would love to have a normal period. It does really suck and there are times where I do cry and get sad because I have this disease, but being sad isn’t going to change anything. I have endo and I can’t change that, so I kinda have the suck it up and get on with it mentality when it comes to my uterus.
